About the Vinjani Donji / Gorica crossing
The Vinjani Donji / Gorica crossing connects inland Dalmatia with western Herzegovina, between Vinjani Donji just outside Imotski in Croatia and Gorica in the Grude municipality of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the Croatian side the D60 state road comes down through Imotski; across the border the road carries on to Grude and onwards towards Široki Brijeg and Mostar. It is the main crossing on this stretch of the border, handling cars, buses and freight alike, with a Croatian customs office on site.
Traffic mixes daily local movement across the border, western Herzegovina's large diaspora, and — in summer — holidaymakers travelling between Herzegovina and the Dalmatian beaches around the Makarska riviera. The Croatian terminal was rebuilt with several control lanes, while the narrower Bosnian side has long been the bottleneck and is being expanded, so queues still build at peak times, above all on summer weekends. Since Croatia joined Schengen in 2023, this is an external Schengen border with full passport and customs checks.

- Summer Friday and Sunday afternoons are the crunch periods — travel early or late if you can.
- Carry passports or valid ID; external Schengen controls apply in both directions.

Reports come in through the day. The Last reporting card at the top shows the latest one. Recent reports count a little more than old ones, and anything based on very few reports is faded — treat it with caution.
